Organic light emitting diodes (OLED) and organic solar cells (OSC) based on polymeric materials are considered to exhibit a great potential for the development of novel solar power and energy-efficient display and light technologies.

cynora focuses on the research of novel semiconducting polymers, which, due to their intrinsic photophysical properties, are supposed to be used as white polymer light-emitting diodes (WPLEDs).

In the future the challenge will be, besides further efficiency improvements, the cost-effective processability and operational stability of OLED devices.

cynora technologies provide the synthesis of optoelectronic materials on a multi-gram scale.

These photoactive polymers are commercially available for thin film testing purposes and the development of printing technologies.

With its state-of-the-art laboratories in the Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe, cynora is situated right in the centre of one of the leading Technology areas in Europe.

The Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) represents the cooperation between the University Karlsruhe and the Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe.

November 2010: cynora declared CyberChampion. At this years award show of the CyberForum, cynora is given the Special Award of the Department of Trade and Industry of Baden-Württemberg. It is dedicated for particular creative ideas and innovative developments.

The non-profit "CyberForum e. V." is one of the biggest regional hightech-entrepreneur-networks in Germany featuring almost 900 members. Since 1997, CyberForum brings together Karlsruhes enterprisers, so they can exchange experience and profit from the Forums possibilities. About 8.000 partner work with the CyberForum, coming from enteprises, universities and other research facilities and municipality. CyberForum covers the whole "Technologieregion Karlsruhe".

The Forum hosts an anual competition called CyberChampions-award, where young enterprises face a jury and compete in categories such aus grade of innovation and entrepreneurial personhood. Awards are given to "HighPotentials" and "NewComers" and there is also a Special Award founded by the Department of Trade and Industry of Baden-Württemberg.

At the 2010 CyberChampion-awards, cynora was given that Special Award for beeing a outstanding univerisity-spinoff. We thank the jury for this great honor and congratulate the other wining teams from jatuso and Discovergy.
